Fragility Fracture Network (FFN)

The Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) is a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to improving the care and outcomes of people with fragility fractures. By bringing together healthcare professionals from across disciplines, FFN works to close treatment gaps, prevent secondary fractures, and ensure patients receive coordinated, evidence-based care.

FFN’s mission is built on four interconnected pillars:

Acute Care: Optimizing medical, surgical, and nursing care following a fragility fracture.
Rehabilitation: Supporting timely rehabilitation and personalized therapy to restore function and independence.
Secondary Prevention: Promoting programs such as Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) to identify and treat underlying bone fragility and reduce future fracture risk.
Policy Change: Advancing policies, funding, and healthcare infrastructure that prioritize fragility fracture care.

FFN is pleased to partner with Osteoporosis Canada (OC) to address the growing burden of fragility fractures across the country. The FFN OC partnership will undertake coordinated initiatives across provinces and territories to standardize and elevate the quality of post-fracture care. By uniting orthopedic surgeons, geriatricians, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, internists, hospitalists, family doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, with the aim to bridge existing gaps in the Canadian healthcare system.

Osteoporosis Canada has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) to guide a two-year plan supporting orthogeriatric integration and best practices – partnering on joint projects with a focus on secondary fracture prevention.
