Join our panel as they discuss how you can get the information and access to the tools and resources you need to make informed decisions to reduce your risk and manage osteoporosis. The webinar panel will also provide information on exercise and nutrition to help keep your bones strong and healthy especially during COVID-19.

Dr. Bill Leslie
MD, MSc, FRCPC
Dr. Bill Leslie is Professor of Medicine and Radiology at the University of Manitoba with over 350 peer-reviewed publications. His research interests are in fracture risk assessment, osteoporosis testing and other nuclear diagnostic techniques. Bill is chair of the “2020 Clinical Practice Guidelines in Osteoporosis” which are currently in development and is also the Director of the Manitoba Bone Density Program, and Co-Director of the Winnipeg PET Imaging Centre.

Rebecca Atkinson loves to move and has been a Physiotherapist for 15 years with the goal of helping people move better and safer. For the past 10 years, Rebecca has also been teaching Tai Chi because she likes to see the positive effect that relaxation has on the body’s performance. Rebecca believes the best medicine is to stay healthy, so volunteering with Osteoporosis Canada to help empower and support individuals in risk-reduction and improving bone health is very fulfilling for her.

Amanda Hamel is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Educator with the Dairy Farmers of Manitoba. Her primary role is to provide training and nutrition programs to Manitoba teachers so they can help kids feel comfortable around food and eating.
