Tyler Churchward-Venne PhD
Dr. Tyler Churchward-Venne is an Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at McGill University, Canada. He leads the Exercise Metabolism, Nutrition, and Muscle Health Research Laboratory. His research team incorporates the use of stable isotope tracers to study protein and amino acid metabolism in both the whole-body and in skeletal muscle tissue, focusing on how factors such as nutrition, exercise, aging, and inactivity (e.g., bed rest) modulate metabolism. He has received funding from organizations such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQ-S) to support his research. The ultimate aim of Dr. Churchward-Venne’s research is to contribute to improving the overall health, well-being, and physical functioning of our society.
