COPN (Canadian Osteoporosis Patient Network) is looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to join the volunteer Executive Committee.
Summary of Role
As the patient arm of Osteoporosis Canada, COPN provides essential, practical and reliable information to individuals living with or affected by fragility through a “by patients, for patients” perspective.
Advocate for Patients: Contribute to raising awareness, improving education, and increasing support for people living with fragility.
Collaborate with Experts: Work alongside people with lived experience, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers and patient advocates to foster positive change and raise the patient voice.
Gain Valuable Experience: Build leadership and advocacy skills while networking with like-minded individuals passionate about patient-centered care.
Requirements:
Have personal experience with osteoporosis, sarcopenia and/or rare bone diseases or have a passionate interest in the causes of fragility and their potential impact.
Are enthusiastic about supporting others and advocating for the muscle and bone health community.
Have a collaborative, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
Are willing to commit time and energy to the work of COPN.
Hours and Commitment:
The COPN Executive Committee meets five times a year via Zoom. Our September meeting aligns with Osteoporosis Canada’s AGM; the others take place on the third Thursday of November, January, March and May from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm ET.
Joining the committee involves volunteering some of your time outside of our regular meetings to actively participate in and fulfill requests the committee receives to collaborate with Osteoporosis Canada staff and volunteers.
