NUTRITION AND BONE HEALTH- SASKATOON
Join Osteoporosis Canada for an education event on bone health and osteoporosis.
The session will begin with a brief overview of what you need to know about bone health, followed by our keynote speaker Dr. Susan Whiting who will deliver a presentation on Nutrition and Bone Health – what nutrients are needed, how to make sure you are getting enough based on the daily recommended amounts and more.

Susan Whiting
Dr. Susan Whiting is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan, where she taught in the Nutrition & Dietetics program since 1988, and at Mount Saint Vincent from 1982-88. Her research spans dietary influences on bone health of children and adults, effectiveness and safety of calcium and vitamin D supplements, and food security at local, institutional and international levels. She is a member of the Osteoporosis Canada Scientific Advisory Council and is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. She is Associate/Deputy Editor on several international journals, and has served on international advisory boards related to bone health, dietary supplements, and vitamin D.
