He is currently a clinical/surgical assistant at the Orthopedic Surgery Division, Rockyview General Hospital, Calgary, Alberta. He also has academic roles, such as a research associate at the University of Calgary and an assistant professor (Part-Time) at McMaster University. He led several research initiatives to improve the functional performance of frail older adults with osteoporosis, hip fracture, osteoarthritis, frailty, or sarcopenia.
In recognition of academic excellence and leadership, Dr. Negm has received over 30 academic awards, including Alberta Innovates Post-doctoral fellowships and Osteoporosis Canada Ph.D. Studentship Research Award, Canadian Frailty Network Interdisciplinary Fellowship, and Ontario Graduate Scholarship.
Dr. Negm is currently the Osteoporosis Canada research committee chair, and he participates in the updated Osteoporosis Canada Guidelines.
