Location: Preference will be given to applicants in Ontario; however, all applications will be considered within Canada.

The Manager, Direct Response and Individual Giving serves as a key member of the Osteoporosis Canada Fundraising team and is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring and evaluating the direct mail house and acquisition program. This role has one direct report and is responsible for driving the day-to-day activities to build, align, and grow the Direct Response fundraising portfolio. This role reports to the Director of Fund Development and MARCOM.
This individual will effectively contribute and strengthen the organization’s overall fundraising capacity and focus on the growth of the individual giving donor base and revenue working with internal team members, external consultants and service providers.

Responsible for:
The position will be primarily responsible for building and managing relationships with donors and prospects, the successful development and implementation of fundraising strategies and program support.
Responsibilities/Duties Include:
- Successfully implement and measure the success of the fund development program including direct marketing, individual gifts and monthly giving donor programs
- Seek out and manage suppliers as needed
- Prepare the Direct Response budget in consultation with the Director, Fund Development and MARCOM
- Manage and liaise with external consultants on deadlines, content, timelines and budget
- Manage data requests, review and updates
- E-solicitation copy development
- Research and make recommendations to maximize fundraising opportunities with the support of the Director, Fund Development and MARCOM by expanding successful programs and implementing new ones according to trends and best practices
- Effectively manage all related budgets
- Analyze and report on results of fundraising campaigns
- Recognize and steward donors
- Build and maintain donor communications by educating current and potential donors about the services of the Organization and opportunities for giving
- Develop and maintain donor databases and information files for the purposes of relationship management
- Respond to donor and non-donor requests for information or communication preferences
- Manage Fund Development Coordinator
- Assist in the recruitment, training and support of volunteers for assigned fundraising programs
- Work collaboratively with the National Office staff including data management and web staff to influence communication activities and offering support when needed
- Additional duties as required
Qualifications/Experience:
- University degree or appropriate post-secondary education with work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of working with CRM, specifically Raiser’s Edge
- 5-7 or more years of successful fundraising experience including the management of an email program, digital advertising program, and lead acquisition and conversion campaigns with a proven track record of developing and executing revenue generating campaigns.
- 2-3 years of management experience (one direct report)
- A keen interest in keeping on top of trends, innovation, optimization, testing, and analysis.
- Expert knowledge of direct marketing principles and best practices.
- Strong writing, editing, and content development skills with the ability to craft stories that inspire donors and supporters.
- Data-minded and data driven with expert analytics, analysis, and reporting experience.
- Knowledge of ethical fundraising guidelines and best practices.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of receipting rules and guidelines for digital and offline donations per Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
- Committed to continued professional development, learning, and growth.
- Proven ability to build relationships and generate new revenue streams
- Proven ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

BACKGROUND:
Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of bone tissue. This can cause the skeleton to become fragile, so that even a slight bump or a fall from standing height or less, can lead to a broken bone (fragility fracture).
The goal of the Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy is to reduce morbidity, mortality, and costs from osteoporotic fractures, including hip fractures, using a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach that is integrated across health care sectors.
The Fracture Screening and Prevention Program (FSPP) is a secondary fracture prevention initiative and a key priority of the Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy. Fracture Prevention Coordinators (FPCs) implement the FSPP in fracture clinics around the province.
JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of the FSPP is to identify patients aged 50 and over who have a fragility fracture and connect them with support and services to help them reduce the risk of another fracture.
Fracture Prevention Coordinators (FPC) provide osteoporosis screening in an orthopaedic setting. After identifying and assessing men and women who have had a fragility fracture, they facilitate patient access to integrated and appropriate post-fracture care such as bone mineral density testing and/or follow up with an osteoporosis specialist. The FPCs work with orthopaedic surgeons, allied health professionals, fracture clinic staff, and primary care. FPCs also provide information and support to connect these patients with primary care, community-based services and education.
Reports to: Manager, Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy, Osteoporosis Canada.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Other Requirements:
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with limited supervision; ability to work as part of a diverse team and the ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of patients.
Fluency in a second language is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diligent use of protocol tools to identify and screen fragility fracture patients aged 50 and over;
- Facilitate diagnostic testing for identified patients, as appropriate;
- Communicate with patients’ primary care provider with regard to their patients’ osteoporosis and/or fracture risk;
- Facilitate the referral of eligible patients to an osteoporosis specialist;
- Educate patients about bone health and fracture prevention;
- Refer/link patients to established self-management, fall prevention, and/or education programs, as appropriate;
- Follow up with patients, post-baseline screening;
- Responsible for adhering to privacy and security policies;
- Assist the RIL in providing ongoing support and education to hospital, community, and primary health care staff;
- Identify opportunities for program growth, development, and outreach;
- Participate in regional and provincial team meetings;
- Other duties as assigned.
